NEW FABRIC!
Tilda Songbird
The beautiful Tilda Songbird collection has arrived! There are 24 main fabrics and 8 blenders in the Songbird collection. They feature soft pastels, and beautiful butterfly and cathedral window designs. We're working on shop models and kits, as you know Tilda always sells very quickly, so come in soon before it's gone! We hosting a Mosaic pillow class on March 2nd, scroll down to the "Class" section to see more details!
I've Got HUE, Babe!
This is a new pre-cut fabric program from Jaftex Fabrics, and Erin Matthew Sewing is one of the PILOT shops! We are excited to be among the first shops to get these fun new fabrics! There are 22 colorways in multiple pre-cuts, including Fat Quarters, Charm Packs, Layer Cakes and Jelly Rolls. We have a few colorways in the shop now, and more will be coming soon. As a pilot shop, we received TWO sewing machines, courtesy of Jaftex, to give away...so we are having a contest! When you purchase one of the new HUE products, you'll be entered into the drawing. We will hold the drawing on July 1, 2026! (Christi's side note: Jaftex president Scott Fortunoff is one of my favorite fabric people, watch this video and see for yourself. The video explains the HUE program a bit more. And he's just delightful to watch. So watch it a couple times. I did. Maybe more than a couple.)

Don't forget that EVERY FRIDAY is open sew! Bring your machines and your friends and sew with us on whatever you want.
February 9, 16 & 23 10:30 am: Behind Blue Eyes Floral Free Motion Quilting
This 3-day class featuring the Behind Blue Eyes Floral panel with Cathy P. The first class is basic free motion. If you have had a free motion class the first half is a refresher. The second part of the class will be quilting the center of the the floral panel. The second class will include adding additional free motion designs and quilting the petals. The third class is finishing the petals, creating a hanging sleeve and machine binding. Class fee is $60 plus cost of the kit. Sign up at www.erinmatthewsewing.com. Class size is limited to 8. Bring a bag lunch. Supplies to bring include extension table for your machine, free motion or hopping foot, quilting gloves, white or yellow fabric marking chalk, 4 quilt sandwiches (18 x 22 inches preferable solid fabric), basting spray or quilting pins. All supplies available at Erin Matthew Sewing.

This class is for people who want to learn to sew. No charge!
February 13, 20 & 27 9:00 am: Lone Star Quilt Class
March 2, 2026 9:00 am: Tilda Mosaic Pillow Class
This is an easy and beautiful quilt for any skill level! It requires 6 fabrics for the star and fabric for background, border and backing. You'll also need a regular ruler with 45 degree lines. The instructor will be creating a queen size quilt during class. You can create the size you would like. There is not a pattern or book required for this class. Once you make one it will become a favorite of yours, too. Instructor fee is $20 per session for a total of $60. Materials to be purchased at Erin Matthew Sewing for 20% off. Fabrics will be selected at the first class. SIGN UP AT ERINMATTHEWSEWING.COM. A $10 sign up fee is required to sign up and the $10 will go toward class supplies.
March 2, 2026 9:00 am: Tilda Mosaic Pillow Class
This lovely pillow featuring a single butterfly block uses fabrics from the Songbird fabric collection. Beautiful design to welcome spring in any room. Finished size is 21in x 12½in. Select your fabric the day of class. Registration fee is $10. No class fee when purchasing fabric from Erin Matthew Sewing otherwise $20. Sign up at www.erinmatthewsewing.com.

February 28 9:00 am: Kimberbell Just Add Butter 1-day Machine Embroidery Event (virtual & in person)
Everything is better when you Just Add Butter! At Kimberbell’s one-day machine embroidery event, you’ll make three functional projects with a cottage core feel: the Meals & Memories Clock, the Just Add Butter Cinch Sack, and a Mason Jar Bouquet Apron with roomy pockets! With a variety of fresh techniques, Just Add Butter is your recipe for fun. Event will be held at the store and on Zoom for virtual attendees. You will be using your embroidery machine and finishing with your sewing machine. The clock is cute and include an hour, minute and second had. The event projects are stitched with the following Glide thread from Hab+Dash® by Fil-Tec® : Cranberry (70207), Antique (21255), Buttermilk (27403), Pearl (20005), Basil (65555), Thyme (60557), Rocky Navy (30001) and Tropical (90284). All Michigan Shop Hop 2026!!
We are getting ready for the 2026 All Michigan Shop Hop, which will run June 1 - July 31st. We will have details on exclusive Shop Hop fabric soon, with pre-orders to begin in the April timeframe. We have such fun seeing old friends and meeting new friends during the Shop Hop! Hope to see everyone!
Kimberbell Mistletoe Mystery Machine Embroidery Block of the Month 2026
Sign up with us to receive a machine embroidery Christmas themed block every month in 2026, with final project layout revealed in December 2026. This is perfect for new embroidery enthusiasts or seasoned pros. You can start any time, we'll get you caught up on months you missed (so far we have gotten a bonus block, the January block, and the February block. You need to have a Kimberbell account, as the digital files will be dropped into your Kimberbell account on the first of every month. You can opt to purchase just the digital files, or digital files plus a monthly fabric kit from Erin Matthew. We also have an embellishment kit available for purchase. The monthly blocks are displayed at the store as the months roll out. Get ready for Christmas early this year!
