November 2025 Newsletter
Best news of all: OUR NEW CLASSROOM IS FINISHED!! This means we can offer more classes in store again and we look forward to seeing you! We are adding a link called "Calendar of Classes" to our website www.erinmatthewsewing.com which will list classes. Please be patient as we grow into our classroom. IMPORTANT! Please call the store to sign up for classes.
So without further ado, here are some upcoming classes/events:
- Free Open Sewing EVERY Friday! Bring your lunch!
- Nov 8, 2025 - 10:00 AM: Teach the World to Sew Day. This is a beginning class. Make a mini tote and learn sewing basics. Class is free, compliments of Husqvarna Viking. We do have a limit of 9 students.
- November 15 and 16 - 9 am - 4:00: Kimberbell 2-day Comfort and Joy Machine Embroidery event. There are 5 projects and they are truly amazing. If you've already signed up, we look forward to seeing you virtually or in store! If you haven't yet signed up, contact us right away so we can be sure to get your kit ordered/shipped in time for the event.
- November 22 - 2:30 pm: "TakeFour" placemat class. This fat quarter friendly, beginner level project is quick and easy and perfect for holiday gifts! Fabric requirements for 4 placemats: 4 different fat quarters, 1 yard of coordinating fabric for back. One yard of THIN batting. Optional: 1/2 yard coordinating fabric for boarders or binding. Class free when purchasing supplies at Erin Matthew Sewing.
- December 6, 2025: Christmas Ornament Class. We are excited to bring this new class from a local, talented artist! Ruth Hawley lives in West Branch, MI. She is a sewist, designer and creator of unique handmade home decor items, bags and totes, hats and mittens. We're so lucky to have her share her talents and teach us 3 different ornament kits utilizing the extremely popular Merry Little Christmas line from Tilda. You'll create a hanging ornament (you select 3 large or all 6 ornaments), a beautiful book ornament, and a Christmas angel ornament. These are absolutely beautiful! Ruth will also bring her very special "trunk show" of her Tilda creations. Class Size is limited! Cost is $20 plus cost of the kits you choose to purchase. The ornament supply list is available at the store. Please call Erin Matthew Sewing at 989.305.6429 to sign up or stop in at the store. We will have a wait list too!
- December 8, 15, 22: By Annie On the Go 2.0 Bag. By Annie bags are always popular and so fun to sew! This class meets 3 days. There is some pre-work required--stop in during November to get your supplies and fabric so you can finish the pre-work before December 8. You'll get a class discount on supplies when you purchase them at Erin Matthew Sewing, and the cost of class is free when supplies are purchased at Erin Matthew Sewing. If bringing your own supplies from your stash, the class fee is $10. Class size is limited to 6 people. We will try to accommodate dates if there are conflicts. We know December is a busy time of year. Sign up at the store or call 989.305.6429.
- December 11-13: Sew All Day, Home at Night Retreat. Leave your machine at the shop overnight! Light lunch provided, $25 a day!
Other News
Starting November 11th - We will have a weekly gift certificate drawing. Enter to win every time you make a purchase at Erin Matthew Sewing in November.
We will be closed November 27 and 28 for Thanksgiving.
Now is a good time to buy that sewing or embroidery machine you've been wanting! Ask Santa to bring you one! We have machines in all price points - there's something here for everyone. Stop in and ask for a demo!
