May/June 2025 Newsletter

Are you ready??  The All Michigan Shop Hop begins June 1!  We are so excited to see you this summer!

Shop Hop Info
  • We will be open this Sunday (June 1) from 10:00 to 5:00 so you can get your passports stamped, get this year's Erin Matthew Sewing fabric block and pick up your Shop Hop fabric pre-orders!
  • This year's exclusive shop hop fabric really reflects all of Michigan and is very beautiful.  We have been kitting up shop hop fabric cuts and kits, and they are ready for you!
  • Our very talented friend Cindy Peck has designed a beautiful quilt using the Shop Hop 2025 quilt.  We've got it hanging at the store, so come and see it and have your picture taken for a 2025 Shop Hop memory!
  • New this year is the "Hopper on the Shelf" program.  Somewhere in our store a fun friend is hidden; if you find it, you are entered into a drawing for prizes.
  • In June and July, we will be open Wednesdays until 7 pm and several Sundays during shop hop--watch our Facebook pages for announcements.

New Fabric

New Tilda Wallflower fabric line is being released on June 1 also!   This is a fun line with beautiful florals and fun projects!  A couple of the projects will take you back to the 60's.  We have new customers from Switzerland and Australia who have pre-ordered these quilt kits.

Moda Superbloom by Robin Pickens is here!  We have yardage, kits and some coordinating cross stitch kits!

Upcoming Events

July 9, 2025:  Moda fabric designer Deb Strain is coming to Erin Matthew Sewing!  She will share how she designs fabric, and she's bringing in fun items to share with us as well!  Detailed information will be sent out in June about her visit.

October 18, 2025:  Kimberbell "Hello Pumpkin" 1 day machine embroidery VIRTUAL event.  Sign up before September 20 to ensure we get the right number of kits and have time to ship to our virtual attendees.  If we can host a few people in person, we will share location information later.

New Sewing Machine

We have had several people who have basic sewing machines that need a lot of let's say..... "TLC" attention from Karl.  If it's time for a new machine, you may want to check out the new Husqvarna Onyx 30 basic sewing machine.  It's easy to use and nice to take on retreats or keep at the cabin for "up north" sewing.  And it's also just a cool-looking machine!

Hope everyone is enjoying spring and eagerly anticipating summer! We are hoping the shop will be very busy and we can't wait to see your smiling faces this summer! Thank you for supporting our small business!
