Shop News!
The 2025 All Michigan Shop Hop (AMISH) is June and July and we are already working to prepare for those busy two months!
- The all color, 100+ page Shop Hop Magazine is available for pre-order - stop in the shop this week and make sure to get on our pre-order list so we can ensure we reserve enough. The magazine contains 5 quilt patterns and lots of additional ideas. It's a great reference to keep on hand. You will need the magazine as you travel to each store. This is your "passport" and it will be stamped at each shop. When you have enough stamps for a region or the whole state, you can enter to win additional prizes. We will email you when the magazine is available for pickup - likely late April/early May. The cost will be around $13.
- Shop Hop Exclusive Fabric - We will begin taking pre-orders for the Shop Hop fabric in April. We'll send out a note when we're able to start pre-ordering. Your pre-orders ensure we obtain enough fabric, and also reserves the fabric you want, just for you. Your fabric will be cut and ready for you to pickup. A deposit will be required. You can preview the fabric here.
- Sneak Peek of our Shop's fabric square! It reflects our shop's mission to our customers--to deliver Joy, Creativity and Friendship.
Website Updates!
We continue to improve our website to make it easier for you to see fabrics, notions and kits. It's open 24/7! We ship the next business day, or if you're local we can pull it and have it ready for pickup. Be sure to save www.erinmatthewsewing.com as a favorite!
New Fabric Lines
New fabric arrives weekly and we try to post photos on our Facebook page as it arrives. Here's some of our recent arrivals:
- On Lake Time by Deb Strain. She will be in Tawas on July 9th!
- Gone Fishing - a great fishing line for our area! Fabric and Kits!
- New Blenders: Riley Blake Poparazzi - wonderful colors to add to your work!
- Botany - BEAUTIFUL florals! Kits are available
- Whiskerville - beautiful and fun children's fabric
- NEW Tilda Wallflower fabrics and kits coming in JUNE
New Machine Embroidery
- Kimberbell Hoppin' Down the Bunny Trail Bench Pillow - we have the CD, fabric kit and embellishments. The shop model will be finished soon. It's super cute and you can finish this before Easter.
- Kimberbell Holiday Rope Bowls - 7 cute holiday designs in 2 different sizes! Stop in the shop to see them. Beginning with this release, Kimberbell will provide a digital download code rather than a USB or CD. It's easy to download! If rope bowls aren't your thing, these would also be cute on towels, aprons, sweatshirts...and more! We've got samples in the shop - stop in and see them!
- Coming in September: Kimberbell Enchanted Winter. This is a 40x40 feature quilt. We'll have more information as we get closer to September, and while we're all tired of snow right now, this is such a cute winter design. Pre-order now from us and save 25% on the bundle (Book/Download, Fabric Kit and Embellishment Kit). Your pre-orders help us know how many to order! Call or stop in the shop and ask to be added to our pre-order list.
Classes
Always remember to check the website for newly added classes! We have a local (and excellent) quilter to teach the free motion classes, and we're working to get those scheduled for April. Check out these classes:
- April 10 (10-1) - Beginner Class - Straight Lines & Arcs Learn Ruler Work
- April 19 (10-1) - Beginner Class - Straight Lines & Arcs Learn Ruler Work
- May 5 (5 to 9 pm) - Cinco DeMayo Tulip Block Class
Individual Classes - We offer individual classes for sewing, quilting, machine embroidery. Jan likes to provide 1:1 time to those who are new to the craft. It provides an opportunity to focus on specific needs. Please call the store to let us know what classes you would like.
July Special Event - Deb Strain
We're SO excited to have Moda Designer Deb Strain visit us for a day in July!! I bet you have some Deb Strain fabric in your stash--if not, we'll be glad to help you acquire some!! Deb is a prolific designer for fabrics and other mediums. She has created over one-hundred collections since she began working with Moda. She loves working with different colors and patterns, the more intricate the better! We have her newest fabric line, On Lake Time, in the shop now. Her next fabric line is a winter theme and arrives in the shop this summer. We will have more details and sign up information soon.
