October 2024 Newsletter

We hope you're enjoying this beautiful fall weather! I love to see the autumn leaves against the pretty blue sky we've had recently.  Seeing the trees change reminds us that the seasons are changing, and it's time to get started on your holiday sewing!  October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, so this is your reminder to get your mammograms done!

Announcements

One of the most fun things (at least for me) is helping select new fabric when the fabric representatives bring their new products.  We are looking for 2 customers who would like to help select children's fabric on October 16 at 9 am.  If you would like to participate send an email to erinmatthewsewing1@gmail.com. 

Breast Cancer Awareness Month - We have partnered with ByAnnie to create Bosom Buddy cushions for women undergoing breast cancer treatment.  ByAnnie has donated the patterns and we have had donations off fabric and foam from wonder customers!  Our goal is to complete 90 cushions by October 31, 2024.  We will supply the instructions and kit and are asking our wonderful customers to create and return a completed bosom buddy.  Please complete and return before October 31. They will be distributed to local medical facilities and any women who needs them.  Please join us in this effort--stop in and pick up a kit or two today! 

Houston Quilt Market - This is THE quilt event of the year for shop owners!  Jan, Monica, Christi and Karla are representing Erin Matthew Sewing October 24-27.  We'll be on the lookout for great new fabrics, notions, BOMs and other products for 2025!  We'll also get to visit with Jan's daughter Erin while we're there.  Stay tuned in early November for a full report on what we loved and purchased for you! 



Here's what's new at the shop: 

Tilda Sanctuary Fabric Line - This NEW fabric line released on October 1 and we have the complete line in stock now! It features beautiful fabric in "warm and cool" tones to celebrate your home, your "sanctuary".  We have yardage, precuts and kits.  Stop in and see it! 

Tula Pink Untamed - This fabric line is arriving in October!  Keep an eye on our Facebook page, we'll let you know when it's in the shop!  


Riley Blake - New Christmas kits are in! 

Tilda Trunk Show - We'll be hosting a week-long Tilda Trunk Show featuring the Creating Memories fabric line in October.  Watch Facebook for an announcement when it arrives!  

 

National Parks Panel - We have added the beautiful National Parks panel and blenders to the shop.  They are perfect for the young explorers! 

OESD - If you love machine embroidery, we are now an OESD retailer! OESD has an incredible amount of beautiful designs for the holidays. They also have a "SPREE Club" that you can subscribe too. There are BEAUTIFUL Christmas ornaments and 3D florist shop that is new this year!   Use our Erin Matthew Sewing Affiliate link when you order from OESD! 

 

Kimberbell Mug Rug 6 - Mug Rugs are always a popular, quick and easy project to make as gifts.  This CD features a dozen new mug rugs.  I'm excited about the Gnome design! Background quilting is included with the designs.  You can also purchase an optional embellishment kit to make your mug rugging quick and easy! One of the mug rugs has a mountain theme and goes will with the new National Parks panel. Kimberbell Gingerbread Christmas Event - This is the newest Kimberbell event and the last event for 2024!  You'll make 3 easy projects in a day.  You provide stabilizer and thread, all other materials are included.  There's a cute gingerbread house to display in a dome kloche, a gingerbread garland and a gingerbread table runner.  Gingerbread is a HOT display trend this coming holiday season!  Fee is $109.  Sign up here!
