Rope bowls have been very popular with sewers! Come and join the fun. Anyone with a zigzag machine can make a rope bowl. We will be learning several different techniques: 1. Wrapping rope with fabric strips 2. Adding variegated threads to make colorful baskets 3. Whorls as a decoration with buttons or ribbon 4. Embroidering designs in the bottom of the bowl (requires an embroidery machine) 5. A Handout on Dyeing the Rope for even more options (No dyeing will be done in class). You will need to bring a crewneck sweatshirt with a high percent of cotton fiber .THE SWEATSHIRTS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE AT ERIN MATTHEW SEWING. YOU WILL NEED TO PURCHASE THIS ITEM AT YOUR FAVORITE SWEATSHIRT STORE.FRENCH SEAMS WILL BE USED SO YOU MIGHT WANT TO CONSIDER A SWEATSHIRT THAT IS A BIT LARGER THAN YOU NORMALLY WEAR.
