Rope bowls have been very popular with sewers! Come and join the fun. Anyone with a zigzag machine can make a rope bowl. We will be learning several different techniques: 1. Wrapping rope with fabric strips 2. Adding variegated threads to make colorful baskets 3. Whorls as a decoration with buttons or ribbon 4. Embroidering designs in the bottom of the bowl (requires an embroidery machine) 5. A Handout on Dyeing the Rope for even more options (No dyeing will be done in class). Rope to be purchased at Erin Matthew Sewing at 20% discount.

This class is a repeat of Jeannie's quilted jacket using a sweatshirt class! This class has been offered twice before with RAVE reviews. Jeannie Hamilton has created a fun and EASY way to make a beautiful quilted jacket out of a Sweatshirt! You will need to bring a crewneck sweatshirt with a high percent of cotton fiber .THE SWEATSHIRTS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE AT ERIN MATTHEW SEWING. YOU WILL NEED TO PURCHASE THIS ITEM AT YOUR FAVORITE SWEATSHIRT STORE.FRENCH SEAMS WILL BE USED SO YOU MIGHT WANT TO CONSIDER A SWEATSHIRT THAT IS A BIT LARGER THAN YOU NORMALLY WEAR. PLEASE WASH TO SECURE ANY SHRINKAGE. You will need 12 fat quarters of your choice...try to include at least 2 solids. Fat quarters purchased from Erin Matthew Sewing will be 20% off. It is suggested you select your fabric prior to the class. Bring a bag lunch and treats if you would like. We will have water and coffee available. Sign up fee $10. Instructor fee: $20 per day. What do I bring to class?
Bring your sewing machine in good working order, basic sewing supplies (rotary cutter, scissors, thread, snips). Required class materials will be emailed to you in advance of the class. Class materials including software designs and thread are not included in the class cost unless specifically indicated. Pre-registration is required for all classes to reserve an available seat. Arriving 15 minutes before class starts will provide time to get set up and settled. Unless your class is “learn your machine”, you will need to understand how to work your machine so the class can stay on track. Important: Your embroidery machine MUST accept USB sticks.

Sometimes you've just got to get away! Grab a friend and come sew! Don’t worry about the housework, dishes, laundry, this is a safe space for fabric fun! Available during open store hours EXCEPT during a scheduled class or event.
Cancellation Policy and Wait List
If there is a different class time that is better for you, we will be happy to put you in a different class! A full class fee refund is available until 48 hours before the class. If you cancel later than that, the class refund is no longer available unless there is a person on the wait list who can take your place.
